Welcome to BTW Massage Therapy,

My current clients, home health care clients, Women's Retreats, and other events can still book with me personally at (770) 401-7547.  All new clients need to book with me through HandsonhealingSenoia.com.

During your massage you can experience a combination of the following types of therapies:

     Hot Bamboo Massage

In hot bamboo massage I use warmed bamboo sticks of varying sizes and diameter to apply a deep tissue massage by kneading the muscles with the bamboo sticks.. Not only does this sooth sore muscles, but it also increases circulation, sensory nerve perception, lymphatic drainage;  and aids in providing a sense of deep relaxation and well being. I use shorter pieces of bamboo work for smaller areas such as around the scapula, smaller sticks for the face, and my largest stick is  a 16” bamboo stick to knead the muscles and do a “criss-cross” technique that stretches the fascia in all directions.  Hot bamboo massage can also benefit people with migraines, arthritis, and respiratory problems.

 Neuromuscular massage

During a massage I use Neuromuscular principles which help me understand what's causing your pain: trigger points, posture, etc, and how to treat it. The nervous system controls everything in the   body, including muscle tension and pain.  By using my thumb or fingertips to explore tissues in detail I can locate bands of tense muscle fibers.  By using various neuromuscular therapies I aid the muscles in releasing tension.

 Medicupping

What is ACE Massage Cupping™ therapy?

A wonderful ancient tool has found its place in the contemporary world of health care. ACE Massage Cupping™ is a modern form of vacuum therapy, and the incredible results that this simple treatment produces have truly impressed those who experience its subtle power.

By creating suction and vacuum pressure, ACE Massage Cupping™ is used to soften tight muscles and tone attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, move deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.

 Lomi Lomi

Lomi lomi massage is a part of the Lomi lomi lifestyle an Hawaiian philosophy called Huna; as it relates to bodywork and healing.  When using Lomi lomi in my massage session I work gently yet deeply into the muscles with continuous, flowing strokes using both my hands and forearms.  I  use gentle stretches of the body and gentle rotations of the joints to assist the release of tensions and assist the flow of energy, once again not forcing, but feeling the level of the clients resistance or comfort.  Vibrational therapy is also used during this part of  my massage session.  One of the secrets of Lomi lomi I learned while training in Hawaii was to seek to nurture and love the person.  To use the loving touch which is a connection of heart, hands, and soul with the Creator of all Life; to show tolerance, forgiveness, acceptance, non-judgement, appreciation, and compassion to all.  Through this positive energy flow I seek to release muscle tension.  Also I pray for the client to return to balance for healing on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

When harmony is lacking the effect is pain physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. Illness is a state of tension, which leads to resistance which blocks energy movement. Lomi Lomi helps release this and therefore facilitates the road to healing. On the physical level, through Lomi Lomi stress and tension are relieved, blood and lymph flow assisted and the elimination of wastes and toxins stimulated.

Aromatherapy

I also use Aromatherapy which is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being.

The inhaled aroma from these "essential" oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing. A form of alternative medicine, aromatherapy is gaining momentum. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increased cognitive function.
